Jump into the fun, whether you're a culture enthusiast, history buff, art aficionado or sports fan! A favorite of outdoor enthusiasts looking for an 'adventure fix' within reach of New York City, is the Shawangunk region accommodating a range of travelers and visitors. Payne Farm Too is a family owned, 100 acre working dairy and horse farm situated in the foothills of the World famous, Shawangunk Mountains. The enclosed, private trail system offers guided, instructional trail rides for beginners through advanced.

The expansive trail system varies in degree of difficulty, terrain (including water) and obstacles encountered along the way, not only to accommodate riders of all levels, but to offer 'nonboarders' the training opportunity to ship their own horse in for the ride. In addition to the farm's amazing trail systems, there is a round training pen, outdoor ring, and big indoor riding arena for all-weather riding. We believe that our clients, riders and owners should enjoy their experiences with horses. Payne Farm Too is committed to creating an environment that is enjoyable for everyone at all levels.

When you're finished riding and exploring Payne Farm Too, within moments you'll find yourself in historic New Paltz where you can sample the local cuisine, browse through the cutest boutiques and antiques stores or just soak in some of the local culture at the galleries.

While visiting Ulster County, you can explore more than 15 wineries and breweries, 13 golf courses, 14 marinas, trout fishing in the Esopus River, rock climbing, hiking, biking, countless galleries, shopping and the BEST TRAIL RIDING ON THE EAST COAST AT PAYNE FARM TOO.

We encourage you taking the suggestion of the Shawangunk Ridge Coalition pointing you in the direction of the 9-winery Shawangunk Wine Trail. For lodging, look to world-class spas to camping on the farm and comfortable bed & breakfasts.   New York Magazine  has a comprehensive article on where to stay, where to eat and what else to do in the Shawangunk region.
