DONATIONS: The Payne Foundation is a non-for-profit 501(c3) an educational and charitable organization dependant on the financial generosity and kindness of our supporters like you. Following the philosophy that the outside of a horse is good for the inside of a human, we ask that you make a donation to the Payne Farm Foundation. Your donation is 100% tax deductible. Your donation will help sponsor underprivileged, neglected and abused children providing them with the opportunity to build leadership, responsibility and confidence through horsemanship and farm life experiences. The Payne Farm Foundation provides a healthy, positive environment to help youths develop character and realize their individual potential. The Payne Farm Foundation takes pride in its unique approach to teaching through hands-on experiences. Youths take an active role in taking care of the livestock and participate in a variety of agricultural activities around the farm. All programs are designed to encourage children's personal growth by promoting fundamental values such as leadership, responsibility, confidence, work ethic and teamwork in a safe and relaxed country atmosphere. These learned life lessons are important, not only on the farm but, valuable through life, helping each child excel in his/her future. The Foundation's staff evaluates each youth on his/her level of participation, spirit and horsemanship skills. Students are ranked based upon evidence of leadership and commitment to the programs regardless of athletic ability. The Payne Farm Foundation does not receive financial aid from government grants or endowments. The Foundation relies solely on the generosity of private sector funding and charitable donations. Your donation is 100% tax deductible.
How to make a monetary donation: Click the 'DONATE' button - or - Address your envelope with your tax deductible donation in the form of a check or money order and mail it to the 'Payne Foundation', 125 Dubois Rd, New Paltz, NY 12561. Non-monetary donations of products and supplies are gratefully accepted. Items such as bedding, chicken, duck, cow and horse feed, hay, fly spray, halters, leadropes, blankets, used tack, wood chips, lumber, carrots and apples, etc. can be delivered to 125 Dubois Rd in New Paltz, NY. Donated horses become part of our Equine Behavior and Horsemanship classes where they are handled and ridden by interns and students, under professional guidance. We take all breeds, ages, and types. When we get well trained horses, we simply start them in our program so that students can continue to master their skills through sound horsemanship. However, we try not to take any horses that have any major physical problems. For liability reasons, we also avoid horses with major behavioral problems.
We welcome volunteers to pack a lunch and spend a day helping around the farm. Please call (845) 255-0177 and speak with our volunteer coordinator, Felix. |
